P/C Stories (A-C)
NOTE : THIS PAGE FULL OF REVIEWS IS DONE BY JANIS, TERRY, or LEE NOT ME (JEN). I JUST MAINTAIN THIS REVIEW PAGE!! If you know the locations of several of these stories please send their URLs to me! Thanks! Also, I would like to THANK Lee for taking Janis' place as P/C reviewer. This entire section has grown in popularity and I am glad that it will continue on with Lee. As Lee is German, we will probably see a couple of German P/C stories to make the list. Should be a lot of fun! - Jen
The Reviewers have a lot to say about themselves and how they go about conducting these reviews. Why don't you read what they have to say!
A NOTE REGARDING STORIES ACCEPTED BY THE ZINE, NAKED NOW
This zine is now never going to happen!
A few of the stories Terry and I did were eventually seen on the ASC ng or in
other zines,
but most remained 'currently unavailable' while we considered what to do with
them. Well I have my own web site and some (with possibly more to follow in
due
course) can now be read at last!
Jenn has added a link to them which takes you straight to the story on my
site. And if for some reason my site is down, then she also has a copy she
can send to you if you ask nicely <g>
My reviews have been hosted by Jenn for many years now. She is happy to
keep them on her site and as that's where people know they can find them, I
am happy to leave them where they are.
If you enjoyed, agreed or disagreed with any of my reviews, please let me
know by mailing me:

ABDUCTION by Janis Sherringham (currently not available)
Jean-Luc and Beverly are abducted by an unknown alien force, which causes Picard to brutalize Beverly. Once they are returned to the Enterprise, they must work out how this will change - or destroy - their relationship.
Reviewed by : Terry - This story provides a good insight into how Picard and Beverly might handle a situation in which they were both victimized, both made to suffer by forces they could not hope to control or influence. My only complaint was I wanted it to be longer and have more detail, but it is very compelling as is and certainly accomplished what it set out to do -- sex between P/C! Adults only! 7.50
AFTER YOU by BevPcrd (internet)
Will Riker, already having guessed, gets proof about which part of Bev's anatomy the captain prefers!
Reviewed by : Janis - A very short, fun story: it made me smile. 7
ALL THE MEANS TO MAKE US ONE by Monica L. Anthony (internet)
While on shore leave, Picard and Crusher finally talk about their repressed emotions.
Reviewed by : Janis - Another that's a must read! Very affecting, with almost faultless dialogue and characterization. I loved it! 9.50
... AND IF I SHOULD DIE by Monica L. Anthony (internet)
Trapped in a shuttle and with life support about to fail, Jean-Luc and especially Beverly, open up about their feelings toward each other.
Reviewed by : Janis - This is wonderful. Their talks ring true and their predicament is truly moving. And the ending, well to be precise, the last line, finishes things off perfectly. 9.50
ATTACHED REVISITED by Melissa Zander (internet )
After Picard's little speech around the camp fire in 'Attached', Beverly, in this story says "You're lying".
Reviewed by : Janis - Not a lot of dialogue--- but a lot of physical action. Concisely written but exactly what we wish had happened! Adults only! 7
AUDIENCE OF ONE by Terry S. Bowers (currently unavailable)
Picard has had a very bad day; at breakfast he had rowed with Beverly and from then on it had gotten worse. Planning to apologize if she'll let him, he first enters his quarters - to find a note inviting him to the holodeck. Someone is about to perform a very seductive dance, just for him.
Reviewed by : Janis - A short tale with a high amusement factor. 7

BETTER LEFT UNSAID by Monica L. Anthony (internet)
A crew member with a grudge against Picard, plans to totally humiliate him before making him really suffer. His tool in this scheme: Beverly Crusher.
Reviewed by : Janis - Great idea but I wasn't too keen on the way it was played out. There's nothing wrong with the actual writing and some parts do work, but for me, not all of it rang true. I wasn't altogether happy with the ending, either. 7
BEV/PICARD: NC-17 by BevCHoward (internet)
Picard returns to the holodeck for a Dixon Hill adventure and finds his client is a certain redhead.
Reviewed by : Janis - Not a great deal of plot - but a lot of physical activity! A fun read. Adults only! 7
THE BIG CHAIR by M. Chelsea Mack (internet)
Jean-Luc, Beverly, an empty bridge--- and a new use for the captain's chair!
Reviewed by : Janis - After the soul searching of Castles in the sand , Melissa gives us a frothy, lightweight tale. Good fun. Adults only! 7
THE BIG CHAIR-PART 2 by M. Chelsea Mack (internet)
A year has passed, Beverly is now Picard's wife, but what happens on a once again empty bridge is pretty much the same.
Reviewed by : Janis - Such misuse of Starfleet property! Just as much fun, and obviously, this too is adults only! 7
BREAKING POINT by Kimberly Blackwell (internet)
Deanna Troi visits Jean-Luc in France. He has retired seemingly while at the pinnacle of his career. Deanna knows its guilt over Beverly's death. But why when her death was an accident--- 18 months earlier, we backtrack to the kidnap of Picard and Crusher by Gul Madred. This time it is she who is being tortured. Madred wants him to do something. A broken Picard, agrees - but finds Madred is still playing games.
Reviewed by : Janis - I can't reveal anything more without spoiling the plot, but rest assured, a lot more happens. Beverly's suffering, and his, albeit of the mental variety, is well written and with the exception of one part that I personally didn't think was in character, this is one great story. Beverly's plight is harrowing without being graphic, parts of it are very moving, and it made me cry. 8.50

THE CAPTAIN'S INVITATION by M. Chelsea Mack (internet)
A sequel to "Private Invitation". With things still not fully resolved between them, this time the captain extends an invite: lunch on the holodeck.
Reviewed by : Janis - Equally as enjoyable as its predecessor. They are fine as they are, but this series could continue and if more do follow, I'd be happy to go on reading them. 8
THE CAPTAIN IS MINE by Janis Sherringham (zine: accepted by Naked Now but as yet unpublished; author's website)
An ensign, newly assigned to the _Enterprise_ becomes infatuated, then obsessed with Jean-Luc Picard. She resents the relationship he has with Beverly Crusher, and decides to change the direction of his interest by not so conventional means.
Reviewed by : Terry - A bit too short for me, but the story is well paced, keeps you wondering and justifies the actions of all the characters so you have no trouble accepting what happens. Well done. 7.75
CASTLES IN THE SAND by M. Chelsea Mack (internet)
Picard and Crusher spend some time alone at his late brothers home. Each time Beverly is about to give into her feelings for Jean-Luc, the memory of Jack intervenes.
Reviewed by : Janis - Intense and moving, with some wonderful dialogue. Adults only! 8.50
CHANGES by Sandra Guzdek (internet)
Although there's lots of P/C in this, it's also very much to do with the other main crew members. A certain someone overhears a remark muttered by Picard and suddenly everyone finds they inhabit bodies belonging to another. Picard is Troi, Crusher is Riker, Riker is LaForge, LaForge is Picard, Worf is Crusher and Troi is Worf! It's clearly written and easy to follow what is actually happening. Still apart while awaiting their new ship, and in their new bodies, everyone is involved in various incidents. For me, Crusher (in Riker's body) has the best of it, and the worst (when you read this you'll understand why.)
Reviewed by : Janis - Another outstanding story by Sandra. long, involved, funny, sad, it has the lot. I was gripped right from the start. It almost seems unfair of me to nit-pick, but I wasn't entirely happy with the way the P/C segment ended, although after what had happened, I can understand why it ends as it does. 9.50
CHOICES by Ulrike Schaefer (zine: Idylls 14)
Beverly and Jean-Luc are now lovers. When she finds out she is pregnant, she wonders how to tell him, what his reaction will be--- and is herself confused as to how she feels. Before she can tell him, a medical emergency on a planet arises and the pregnant doctor could unwittingly be putting her life and that of her unborn child in danger.
Reviewed by : Janis - Not really the sort of plot I like. Usually they are so predictable and thus boring. But this is very well written and has a few new angles on the idea--- I liked it a lot. 7
