Get to know the P/C Reviewers

A few words from our current reviewer: Lee

Hi there,

 if you have visited this site in the past, you know about Jen ( this is her webpage ), and Janis ( she did most of the Story reviews ). When I surfed onto this page for the very first time, I admired not only their work, but also their dedication to this topic. I thought and still think that they did a wonderful job here.

Well, I’m Lee, and I’m trying to cover the review part from now on. Janis couldn’t do it any longer, that’s why Jen tried to find somebody else’s help. Let me tell you, that somebody was me.

I promise, I will do my very best to keep things like they were : Excellent. Janis kept the standards high, and I try to keep it that way.

Well I don’t think it is necessary, but just to calm you, yes, I’m a BonCer too, and very proud of it as well. It will take time to review all the stories, so don’t worry if you can’t find your story here. I certainly still have to read it. For all those who fear that I will take their wonderful stories and post them here, let me assure you I won’t ! The link will ( without permission of the stories author ) only be laid to story archives, never to private web-pages.

If you have an own web-page, where you post your work, I will eMail you and ask for permission to put a link to your page, or better the story. So don’t worry, there will be nothing happening without your consent.

I’m very fair, and promise to take this job seriously. I will treat you and your work friendly and with respect, and I hope you will treat me the same way. So, if there is something that you want to tell me or to complain about, be fair and don’t bother Jen if it’s me you mean.

Now a few words from Janis :

About a year ago I decided to start reviewing all the P/C stories I had read; a summary of the plot without giving anything away, followed by my view. I hope they will be helpful to new P/C readers in deciding what story to read next, and that authors will be interested in reading what I though of their work.

Can I just say that Jen has kindly allowed me space on her wonderful site BUT the views here are mine alone, so if you want to complain about something I've said, or want to agree or share your comments, contact me and NOT her.

If your story isn't here, don't panic. Either I read it too long ago to review it fairly now and it won't get done until I read it again, or I've yet to read it. It does NOT mean I hated it so much I didn't review it.

There are some very talented writers out there and I do hope I haven't upset or offended anyone with my comments. The majority of these reviews will sing your praises - but if I don't like an aspect, I do say so!

A P/C friend of mine, Terry Bowers, has reviewed my stories (I thought it was only fair I got appraised if I was doing so to other writers) and you will see that she doesn't always give me glowing reviews - but I've listed them here anyway. By the same token, she may be my friend but I don't treat her stories any differently.

Terry and I have had several of our stories accepted for publication and they should be out in the next issue or two of that particular zine. Some we are as yet unsure about--these are listed as currently unavailable--and will either be submitted to a zine or made available via an e-mailed request. (Maybe we'll even figure out how to post them on asc!). We both have a few that we know we won't be submitting and these can be requested now.
