The following is a transcript of Gates walking by Ted Casablanca.
Ted: Gates McFadden. You are the only gal
who's sensibly dressed for this wintry weather. And yet you still show off that sexy
figure.
Gates: I was disappointed. I brought my cross-country skis,
but it's not happening.
Ted: How does it feel
to be the doctor on board?
Gates: It feels incredibly safe. I know I'm the medical
person. There are a lot of fans who think I didn't go to medical school at all. [Laughs.]
Ted: But you went to drama school. In fact, you were a
professor!
Gates: I slept with the captain--that's how I got the
position. No, that's not true. Especially in light of the hearings!
Ted: Is it a boys' club in outer space?
Gates: It can be sometimes, but the guys are great. They're a
great, great group.
