Star Trek: Insurrection
YUCK!!! What where they thinking?!
O.K. to be fair the MAIN reason I hated this movie was because of the Picard and Anji thing going on. I really felt physically ill when I saw what was happening in the movie theatre. To be honest I have only managed to sit through the movie twice and only with the help of the fast forward button.
I mean was Beverly Crusher even in the movie? I really do believe that she only had about 5 lines throughout the entire movie. When I saw her fixing his collar and joking around with him in the beginning I was so excited! I thought for sure something would happen between them but NOTHING happened. The only remotely interesting to me in the film was the look of disappointment or indifference on her face when she brought mother and son together and Picard is standing with Anji. I rather think she was just tired of the whole thing.
Star Trek: First Contact
I want to who out there thought that the scene with Picard and Lilly in the Conference Room (you know the Moby Dick Scene), would have been more natural as a Beverly/Picard scene? I personally was fuming during this scene. Yes, my friends will readily attest to this fact! I mean come on, the entire scene seemed to be screaming BEVERLY SHOULD BE HAVING THIS CONVERSATION WITH JEAN-LUC!!!!! AUGH!!! I finally figured out what was bothering me so much, thanks to Gypsy. Since WHEN does Beverly just go along with "He's the captain."? The Beverly I know would have turned and ran into the Conference Room and jumped down his throat!
Also, did anyone think that Beverly seemed like the "mother/wife" stereotype? I noticed that Beverly and Jean-Luc seemed to have a wife/husband relationship in the movie. Especially the scene with Jean-Luc and Worf having it out on the bridge. Did you notice Bev's "Jean-Luc!" in response to what he said to Worf? Hmmm? I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not the only one. If I am, that might suggest that my friends claims that I am a psycho fan might be true (I really hope not!).
Did you notice the "look?" If you are a true Bev fan than you know what I'm talking about. ;) O.k. for those who are not exactly a Bev obsessive then I'll be nice and tell you. It's at the end of the movie, after Jean-Luc gives Lilly a peck on the cheek and the crew is right about to beam up, Beverly gives Lilly a look that seems to say, "He's had his fun with you but we both know he's mine!" My boyfriend disagrees with me but then again he's not a Bev fanatic like me. ;)
If you agree with anything that I have said then e-mail me! If you agree with my friends, well, keep it to yourself! Just kidding!

To Be or Not To Be? That is the question!
"What in the world is she talking about?" is probably what you are asking yourself. Well, I'm talking about is:
DO YOU THINK THAT BEVERLY CRUSHER AND JEAN-LUC PICARD BELONG TOGETHER?
And based on the responses I have received from MANY people the overwhelming response is OF COURSE they should! I really don't understand why Picard is all of a sudden turning into a James Kirk! I know he's a Frenchman but COME ON! He acts more like an Englishman, well, he use to. So now in these new movies he seems to be falling in love with every female guest star and RIKER of all things is the one getting SERIOUS! What is going on?! Is Q involved or what?!
My theory is that Paramount really isn't interested in the True Fans anymore and is more interested in the bottom line and really, what is the average public interested in watching? Well, if you answered a lot of special effects and a main character that behaves like James Bond sleeping with every female with a pulse, then you and I are thinking along the same lines! I would be absolutely STUNNED if Paramount ever made a Star Trek movie JUST FOR THE FANS! I mean if you have a look at the movies that Paramount produces you'll see that most of it's money comes from the Star Trek Universe. Heck if they believe that it is profitable to have a STAR TREK hotel in Las Vegas, then I would think it would be a safe bet that they make TONS of money off Star Trek. Why not for once make movies for US!
Well, all I can say is THANK GOD for Fan Fiction!!
